Social fobi

Definition:
Uttalad och bestående rädsla för situationer som innebär exponering för okända människor eller risk för kritisk granskning av andra. Tillståndet stör i betydande grad ett normalt fungerande i vardagen.
Förekomst:
Livstidsprevalensen beräknas till 10–15 %. 
Symtom:
Ångest med fysiska symtom och katastroftänkande i situationer där man upplever sig kritiskt granskad av andra.
Kliniska fynd:
Klinisk undersökning är normal.
Diagnostik:
Typisk anamnes. Ofta söker patienten för sekundära problem som till exempel depression, allmän oro eller ångest. Diagnosverktyg (M.I.N.I. ) och skattningsverktyg (LSAS-SR)  kan vara till hjälp.
Behandling:
I första hand KBT och i andra hand läkemedelsbehandling.
