Postkontusionellt syndrom

Definition:
Är ett vanligt följdtillstånd efter en lindrig traumatisk hjärnskada,
Förekomst:
30–80 % av patienter med mild till måttlig traumatisk hjärnskada upplever symtom på postkontusionellt syndrom.
Symtom:
Ett symtomkomplex som består av huvudvärk, yrsel, trötthet, irritabilitet, minnessvårigheter, sömnsvårigheter, ljud-och ljuskänslighet.
Kliniska fynd:
Kliniska fynd saknas som regel.
Diagnostik:
I vissa fall behov av ytterligare undersökning. DT- eventuellt MR-undersökning är som regel redan utförd. Neuropsykiatrisk testning? Psykiatrisk bedömning?
Behandling:
Ingen specifik behandling finns som kan förebygga eller behandla postkontusionellt syndrom, därför blir behandlingen symtomatisk.
