Definition:
Anfallsvis unilateral huvudvärk med stark smärta.
Förekomst:
Sällsynt. Vanligare hos män.
Symtom:
Anfallsvis unilateral huvudvärk med stark smärta lokaliserad bakom eller runt ett öga med autonoma symtom på samma sida.
Kliniska fynd:
Tårflöde, rött öga (konjunktival injektion), nästäppa, svettning från pannan och ansiktet, mios (liten pupill), ptos (hängande ögonlock) eller ögonlocksödem på samma sida som smärtorna under anfall.
Diagnostik:
Diagnosen baseras på anamnes och kliniska fynd. 
Behandling:
Anfallsbehandling med subkutana injektioner med sumatriptan och/eller syrgas. Profylaktisk behandling hos vissa med frekventa anfall.
