Definition:
Återkommande sår i munhålan av okänd orsak, antagligen multifaktoriell.
Förekomst:
Punktprevalensen är cirka 2 %.
Symtom:
Återkommande besvär med enskilda eller flera smärtsamma sår i munnen som läker inom 10–14 dagar.
Kliniska fynd:
En eller flera runda och skarpt avgränsade sår, cirka 2–8 mm i diameter, som är täckta av gulvitt pseudomembran och omgivna av ett ilsket rött område.
Diagnostik:
Inga tilläggsundersökningar har diagnostiskt värde.
Behandling:
Behandling är vanligtvis inte nödvändig. Särskilda typer av tandkräm och munsköljningsmedel kan minska antal aftösa sår vid återkommande besvär. Lokalbehandling med glukokortikoid påskyndar läkning och minskar smärtan.
