Retroperitoneal fibros

Definition:
Retroperitoneal fibros karakteriseras av förnyad tillväxt av retroperitoneal vävnad som resultat av kronisk inflammation, så att urinledare och andra retroabdominala organ kommer i kläm.
Förekomst:
Sällsynt tillstånd.
Symtom:
Ospecifika symtom som dels beror till följd av kompressionseffekter och dels systemiska effekter.
Kliniska fynd:
Vid klinisk undersökning ses vanligtvis inga kliniska fynd.
Diagnostik:
Akutfasproteiner är som regel förhöjda. Ofta är ANA förhöjt. Bildgivande undersökningar kan bekräfta diagnosen.
Behandling:
Det är osäkert vad som är den bästa behandlingen: kortikostroider, immunosupression eller kirurgi.
