Definition:
En samling riskfaktorer som inkluderar bukfetma, insulinresistens, dyslipidemi och hypertoni.
Förekomst:
Vanligt tillstånd. Förekomsten varierar med definition och population.
Symtom:
I tidig fas få symtom utöver bukfetma.
Kliniska fynd:
Hypertoni och bukfetma.
Diagnostik:
Högt BMI, förhöjda triglycerider, lågt HDL-kolesterol, förhöjt fasteglukos/HbA1c eller nedsatt glukostolerans.
Behandling:
Förändring i kosthållning och ökad fysisk aktivitet för att uppnå viktminskning och förbättring av övriga riskfaktorer. Rökstopp.
