Hepatit B

Definition:
Infektion i levern orsakad av hepatit B-virus (HBV). Kan medföra akut hepatit, kroniskt inaktivt bärartillstånd och kronisk hepatit med efterföljande leverskada. Smittar genom blod och kroppsvätskor såsom säd och saliv.
Förekomst:
Under perioden 2017–2021 rapporterades i Sverige 500–1 000 fall av hepatit B årligen.
Symtom:
Inkubationstiden är cirka 1–6 månader. Majoriteten är asymtomatisk vid akut HBV-infektion, men vissa kan få symtom som feber, trötthet och dålig matlust (veckor till månader). Vissa kan få hepatitsymtom med ikterus, mörk urin och avfärgad avföring.
Kliniska fynd:
Fynd som kan ses är hepato- eller splenomegali, lymfadenopati, urtikaria och ikterus. 
Diagnostik:
HbsAg och anti-Hbc positivitet bekräftar smittan.
Behandling
:Symtomatisk behandling oftast vid akut hepatit, vid allvarligare förlopp ibland antiviral behandling. Vid kronisk hepatit B finns indikation för behandling hos alla med tecken till cirros, eller vid aktiv inflammation och hög virusreplikation.
