Hepatit A

Definition:
Hepatit A är inflammation i levern orsakad av hepatit A-virus.
Förekomst:
Årligen rapporteras runt 100 fall i Sverige, varav cirka hälften har smittas utomlands. 
Symtom:
Prodromala allmänsymtom ses cirka en vecka innan debut av ikterus.
Kliniska fynd:
Fysiska tecken kan ses i form av hepatomegali, splenomegali, bradykardi och lymfadenopati bak på halsen. 
Diagnostik:
Det föreligger hyperbilirubinemi, förhöjda levertransaminaser och positiv serologi för hepatit A-virus. 
Behandling:
Det finns ingen specifik behandling.
