Trombocytos, essentiell trombocytos

Definition:
Trombocytantal ≥450 x 109/L. Essentiell trombocytos (ET) är ett myeloproliferativt tillstånd.
Förekomst:
Sekundär, reaktiv trombocytos är mycket vanligt. ET är ett ovanligt tillstånd. 
Symtom:
Eventuellt symtom på bakomliggande tillstånd. Vid ET ibland inga symtom. Vanliga symtom är kopplade till tromboser. Svettningar, fatigue och klåda kan förekomma. 
Kliniska fynd:
Kliniska fynd vid ET saknas ofta. 
Diagnostik:
Det är viktigt att utesluta sekundär trombocytos med hjälp av anamnes, kliniska fynd och riktad provtagning. Välgrundad misstanke på ET enligt standardiserat vårdförlopp, se Nationellt vårdprogram Myeloproliferativ neoplasi (RCC). 
Behandling:
Vid ET behandling av kardiovaskulära riskfaktorer och eventuellt behandling för att minska risk för trombos.
